Replacing a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) involves careful steps to ensure safety and compliance with electrical standards. Here's a structured guide:

structured guide

1. Safety Precautions: Turn off the main power circuit breaker (Main Breaker) and place a warning sign next to the electrical box to prevent others from closing the circuit by mistake.

2. Verify De-energization: Use a voltage tester to confirm no power at the breaker terminals and bus bars.

 Replacement steps

1. Remove Panel Cover: Unscrew and carefully remove the cover to expose the breakers.

2. Identify the Faulty Breaker: Check labels or diagrams. Ensure the replacement matches specifications (amperage, voltage, type, brand).

3. Disconnect Wires: Label wires for reconnection. Loosen terminals and detach wires from the old breaker.

4. Remove the Old Breaker: Unclip or unscrew it from the rail/bus bar. For multi-pole breakers, remove the entire unit.

5. Install the new circuit breaker: Fix the circuit breaker: Snap the new circuit breaker into the DIN rail of the distribution board, make sure it is tight, and fix the bottom with screws.

6. Connect the wires: Incoming (Line): Connect the wires from the main power supply or the upper-level circuit breaker.Outgoing (Load): Wires connected to the load .Make sure the copper core of the wire is fully inserted into the terminal hole and the screws are tightened until they are not loose.

7. Reassemble the Panel: Replace the cover securely and restore power by turning on the main breaker.

8. Test the New Breaker: Turn on the new Molded case circuit breakers and test the circuit with a multimeter or device. Verify proper operation.
