Valve lockout belong to a class of industrial safety locks whose purpose is to ensure that the equipment with which the valve is used is absolutely closed and that the equipment is maintained in a safe condition. The use of locks can prevent inadvertent operation of equipment, resulting in injury or death, and also serves as a warning.
